A robot that vacuums and mops in one run sounds simple. In practice, mopping is where robots differ most. Some drag a damp cloth around. Others scrub with spinning pads or a rolling mop, then return to a dock that washes the pads in hot water and dries them so they do not smell.
We compared the leading 2026 combos using lab results from Vacuum Wars and RTINGS, manufacturer specs, owner review patterns and October 2026 prices. We have not tested these robots. Want vacuuming first and mopping as a bonus? See our best robot vacuum guide instead.

How we chose
We have not run hands-on tests. We built this list from four sources of evidence:
- Lab mopping data. Vacuum Wars measures how much dried stain a robot removes and how much water it leaves behind. We favoured robots that clean well without flooding the floor.
- Lab vacuuming data. A combo still has to vacuum well, so we checked RTINGS and Vacuum Wars results for carpet, pet hair and tangles.
- Specs. Mop type, mop pressure (measured in newtons, N), mop lift height and dock features come from manufacturer pages.
- Owner review patterns and price. We looked for repeated issues like smelly pads or docks that fail to drain, and checked October 2026 prices in the US and UK.
Roller mop or spinning pads: which is better?
There are two main designs in 2026.
- Roller mops (Ecovacs T90 Pro Omni, Eufy Omni C28) use a long rolling cloth that is rinsed with clean water as it turns. The robot is always mopping with a freshly wetted surface, which tends to leave fewer streaks.
- Spinning pads (Roborock, Dreame, MOVA) press two round pads onto the floor and spin them. They push harder on stains and can swing out to reach edges, but the pads get dirtier during a long run.
Both can do an excellent job. In Vacuum Wars' data, the roller-mop T90 Pro Omni led for mopping, while some spinning-pad flagships scored lower once water left on the floor was counted.
What to look for in the best robot vacuum and mop
A self-washing dock. The dock should rinse the mop and dry it with warm air. Without drying, pads can start to smell within days.
Mop lifting or removal. The robot should lift its mop on rugs, or leave the pads in the dock when it vacuums carpet. Check the lift height against your rug pile.
Hot-water washing. Docks that wash in hot water (often 176°F to 212°F) shift greasy kitchen grime better than cold rinses.
Tank sizes. Bigger clean and dirty water tanks mean fewer trips to the sink. Some docks can also plumb into your water supply if you buy a separate kit.
Obstacle avoidance. A wet robot that drives through pet mess is a disaster, so a camera or structured light sensor is worth having if you have pets.
Best robot vacuum and mop for tile
Tile with grout lines is a tough test because dirt sits in the grooves. Higher mop pressure helps. The Roborock Qrevo Edge 3 Pro (14 N) and MOVA P10 Pro Ultra Gen 2 (12 N) push hardest on paper, and both wash pads in very hot water. For mixed tile and rugs, the Ecovacs T90 Pro Omni is our pick because of its strong lab mopping score and low water residue.
Is a mopping robot vacuum worth it?
For homes with lots of hard floor, usually yes. A daily light mop stops sticky marks and paw prints building up, so deep cleans are needed far less often. Robots will not replace a proper scrub for dried-on spills, and you will spend money on cleaning solution, pads and dust bags over time. If your home is mostly carpet, a vacuum-only robot is often the better buy: see our carpet guide.
Running costs to budget for
Expect to replace dust bags every one to three months, mop pads or rollers a few times a year, and brushes and filters roughly every six to twelve months, depending on the model. Cleaning solution is optional on most robots but recommended by brands. T3 notes the Eufy Omni C28 ships without solution, which costs about £19.99 or $20.99. Check that spares are easy to buy where you live before you choose.
Frequently asked questions
Which robot vacuum is best for mopping?
On independent lab data, the Ecovacs Deebot T90 Pro Omni is among the best. Vacuum Wars recorded the second highest combined mopping score it has measured, with very little water left behind.
What is the best robot vacuum and mop for tile?
Look for high mop pressure and hot-water pad washing. The Roborock Qrevo Edge 3 Pro, MOVA P10 Pro Ultra Gen 2 and Ecovacs T90 Pro Omni are strong options for tiled floors.
Is a mopping robot vacuum worth it?
Yes for homes with plenty of hard floor. A self-washing dock makes daily mopping hands-off. For carpet-heavy homes, a vacuum-only robot is often better value.
Will a robot mop wet my rugs?
Good combos lift their mops on carpet or leave the pads in the dock. The Roborock Qrevo Edge 3 Pro can detach mops for carpet up to 1.81 in thick, and the Eufy Omni C28 lifts its roller by 11 mm.
Is Shark or Roomba better for mopping?
Neither leads current independent mopping data. Both brands sell combos with washing docks, but the top lab scores in 2026 come from Ecovacs, Roborock, Dreame and Eufy.
What are the downsides of a robot vacuum and mop?
Docks are bulky, tanks need emptying, and consumables add cost. Robots also struggle with dried-on stains that need real elbow grease.
