Ecovacs is one of the oldest Chinese robot vacuum makers and sells its robots under the Deebot name. Its range is huge: Vacuum Wars lists more than 30 Deebot models across the X, T and N series, and calls the T series the most confusing in the brand. This review cuts through it.
We have not tested Ecovacs robots hands-on. Our picks are based on Ecovacs' US product pages, independent reviews from Vacuum Wars, a 2025 US government security advisory, owner feedback and October 2026 prices. For rivals at similar prices, see our Dreame and Roborock reviews.

Verdict: The T80 Omni brings Ecovacs' roller mop to a price that undercuts most rivals with similar docks. It is the safest all-round Deebot.

Verdict: A genuinely strong flagship that now sells well below its $1,499.99 launch price. Choose it if you want bagless convenience and are happy to wipe the dock occasionally.

Verdict: A good alternative to the X12 if you prefer a bagged dock and higher quoted suction. Compare both on the day.

Verdict: Now outclassed by the T80 Omni and X12 on value. Only consider it at a clear discount, and read about known issues first.

Verdict: A lot of robot for the money. If you do not need a roller mop, it saves about $100 over the T80 Omni.

Verdict: One of the cheapest full-dock robots from a major brand. Good for small homes with mostly hard floors.
Vacuum Wars criticises Ecovacs' naming as more marketing than clarity. Ignore the letters and compare four things: suction, mop type (roller or pads), whether the dock washes with hot water, and whether it uses bags.
Yes, especially for value. Ecovacs often packs hot mop washing, roller mops and camera-based obstacle avoidance into lower prices than Roborock or Dreame. Its best models, such as the X12 OmniCyclone, earn strong independent reviews.
The downsides are a confusing range, a shorter standard warranty than Dreame, mixed long-term reliability reports on some models (such as the X9 Pro Omni) and the security history covered below.
Deebot robots are controlled through the Ecovacs Home app, which supports maps, room settings, scheduling and, on newer models, the YIKO voice assistant.
In May 2025, the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) published advisory ICSA-25-135-19 about Deebot X1 and T10, T20 and T30 models, as reported by Vacuum Wars. In plain terms, the robot and its dock used an easy-to-guess built-in password, and the dock did not check that software updates genuinely came from Ecovacs. That could, in theory, let a nearby attacker install malicious software, view the camera or access maps. No real-world attacks were reported. Ecovacs released firmware fixes and said remaining models would be updated by 31 May 2025.
What to do: keep your Deebot updated through the app, use a strong Wi-Fi password and consider a separate network for smart home devices. If you own an older X1 or T10 to T30 model, check it has the latest firmware.
Ecovacs' US support pages state a 12-month warranty from the date of purchase, with an optional extended warranty. The warranty does not cover robots bought from unauthorised sellers or through Amazon Resale, so buy new from Ecovacs or an authorised dealer. Terms vary by country.
In the US, the FCC's 28 July 2026 rule means future foreign-produced Deebot models need a Conditional Approval before they can launch. Already-authorised models, including those on this page, can be sold and updated until at least 1 January 2029. UK buyers are not affected.
Ecovacs suits you less if you want the longest warranty (see Dreame) or the simplest range to shop.
We did not test these robots hands-on. We started with Vacuum Wars' Ecovacs buyer's guide (updated June 2026) and Ecovacs' own US product pages, checked specs and prices in October 2026, and weighed Vacuum Wars' reviews and owner feedback. We favoured current models with full docks and skipped older X1 and T10 to T30 robots that are mainly sold at clearance prices.
Ecovacs makes excellent-value robots once you see past the naming. The Deebot T80 Omni is the best buy for most homes, the X12 OmniCyclone is the flagship and the N30 Pro Omni is a strong budget dock. Keep firmware updated and register for the warranty.
For most homes, the Deebot T80 Omni. The X12 OmniCyclone is the flagship, and the N30 Pro Omni is the budget pick.
Yes. Ecovacs offers strong features for the money, and the X12 OmniCyclone is among Vacuum Wars' favourite robots of the year. Check reviews of the specific model, as reliability varies.
Current Deebots range from about $240 for the N20 Plus to around $900 for the X12 OmniCyclone in October 2026, with the T80 Omni around $549.
For most people, yes. A dock that empties the bin and washes the mop means you only need to step in every few weeks rather than after every clean.
They cannot clean stairs, they need a tidy floor to work well, and docks take up space. Camera-equipped models also need regular security updates.
Ecovacs released firmware fixes for the X1 and T10 to T30 models named in a May 2025 CISA advisory. Keep the app and robot updated.
