Dyson was slow to robot vacuums. Its earlier 360 Eye and 360 Vis Nav never won over buyers in big numbers (the Vis Nav averages about 3.3 out of 5 across more than 1,000 Google Shopping reviews), and the Spot+Scrub Ai was its first robot that mopped. In September 2026 Dyson reset its range with three new Nurovi models (R1, R2 and R3), each with a clear job.
We have not tested Dyson robots. This review uses Dyson's announced specifications, launch coverage and first impressions from Expert Reviews, Ideal Home and Vacuum Wars, published reviews of the Spot+Scrub Ai, and owner feedback patterns. Because the Nurovi range is so new, we flag clearly where claims are Dyson's own.
| Model | Price | Suction | Mop | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| R1 Nurovi Dry | around $449 to $549 / £499 | 21,000 Pa | None | Carpets, pets |
| R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry | around $699 / £749 | 21,000 Pa | Triangle pads | Mixed floors |
| R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV | around $1,199 (US only) | 30,000 Pa | Self-cleaning roller | Stains, hard floors |
| Spot+Scrub Ai | around $849 | Not quoted | Roller | Discount buyers |

Verdict: Dyson's design manager for the range told TechRadar that many people do not trust robot mops with their carpets, and the R1 is built for them. It is the most sensible Dyson robot to buy now, especially at the discounted US price.

Verdict: The R2 is Dyson's mid-range all-rounder. The triangle pads are an interesting idea, but wait for independent tests before paying more than you would for a proven Roborock or Dreame with a full dock.

Verdict: The R3 is Dyson's most ambitious robot and went on sale in the US on 15 September 2026. Its predecessor received mixed reviews, so we would wait for independent testing before buying at full price.

Verdict: Only consider the Spot+Scrub Ai at a deep discount. Its replacement, the R3, promises much more, and rivals at the same price have better independent reviews.
Dyson unveiled the Nurovi range at an event in Berlin in early September 2026. Each model has a separate role:
All three use bagless docks that hold up to 90 days of dry debris, according to Dyson. The older 360 Vis Nav still appears at third-party sellers, but Dyson now presents Nurovi as its newest robot platform. Check support and parts availability before buying any older Dyson robot.
Dyson's strengths are suction engineering, bagless dust handling and a growing support network. Its weaknesses, historically, have been navigation and value. On paper, the R1 and R2 offer less suction than similarly priced Roborock, Dreame and Eufy models, which often quote 20,000 to 36,000 Pa with hot-water mop washing. Dyson's argument is that real-world cleaning depends on brush design and airflow, not just a pascal figure. Until independent labs test the Nurovi range, that is a claim rather than a proven fact.
If you want proven results now, see our best robot vacuum guide. If you love Dyson's cordless vacuums and mostly need dry cleaning, the R1 is a reasonable choice.
Both brands now offer a vacuum-only model, a mid-range combo and a premium roller-mop flagship. iRobot's 2026 Roombas quote higher suction (up to 35,000 Pa on the Max 875 Combo) and have more independent reviews behind them. Neither has a clear lead yet, so compare current prices and wait for lab results on the newest models. Our Roomba review covers iRobot's line-up.
Dyson robots are controlled through the MyDyson app. Alongside the Nurovi launch, Dyson announced My Dyson Support, which includes concierge help, diagnostics and repairs at participating Service Bar locations, and a Loan Promise that can provide a temporary machine if yours cannot be repaired straight away, as reported by Vacuum Wars.
Dyson is a privately owned British company headquartered in Singapore. Camera-based models such as the R3 capture images of your home to recognise stains and objects, so review the app's privacy settings and keep firmware up to date.
Dyson's warranty terms vary by product and country, and we could not confirm the Nurovi warranty length from Dyson's published launch materials. Check the warranty on the product page before you buy.
In the US, the FCC's 28 July 2026 rule blocks new authorisations for foreign-produced home robots unless the maker gets a Conditional Approval. Dyson launched the R2 and R3 in the US in September 2026, and models that are already authorised can keep receiving updates until at least 1 January 2029. UK buyers are not affected.
We did not test these robots. We combined Dyson's announced specs and prices with launch coverage from Expert Reviews, Ideal Home and Vacuum Wars, Mashable's published review of the Spot+Scrub Ai, and retail prices checked in October 2026. Where the only evidence is Dyson's claim, we say so.
The Nurovi range is Dyson's most sensible robot line-up yet, with clear roles and lower entry prices. The R1 Nurovi Dry is the one we would consider now, particularly for carpets. The R2 and R3 are promising but unproven, and the previous Spot+Scrub Ai received lukewarm reviews. If you need a robot today and want the safest choice, a proven Roborock or Dreame model is still the stronger bet.
The Nurovi range: the R1 Nurovi Dry, R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry and R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV, announced in September 2026. The R3 went on sale in the US on 15 September 2026 and is expected in the UK in early 2027.
It already does. The R2 Nurovi uses triangle-shaped mop pads and the R3 uses a self-cleaning roller mop. The older Spot+Scrub Ai also mops.
The R1 costs £499 in the UK and launched at $549 in the US (seen around $449 on Amazon in October 2026). The R2 launched at £749 and $699, and the R3 at $1,199 in the US.
There is no clear winner yet. Roomba's 2026 models quote higher suction and have more independent reviews. Dyson's R1 is competitively priced for vacuum-only cleaning.
A robot vacuum handles daily upkeep, while a cordless stick vacuum handles stairs, sofas and deep cleans. Many homes benefit from both. Dyson's R1 is designed as a vacuum-only robot for people who already own a stick vacuum.
Dyson now presents the Nurovi range as its newest robot platform. The 360 Vis Nav still appears at some retailers. Check parts and support availability before buying older stock.
