Beatbot is a smart pool robotics brand led by founder and CEO Siler Wang. It launched its first robots, the AquaSense and AquaSense Pro, at CES in January 2024, and has since expanded quickly into the US, Europe and Australia. Every Beatbot pool cleaner is cordless.

Beatbot's big idea is the all-in-one robot: one machine that skims the surface, scrubs the floor, walls and waterline, and in some models adds a water clarifier. That is convenient, but it comes at a price, and independent testers are divided on whether the cleaning results justify it. Here is what the evidence says. For other brands, see our robot pool cleaner guide.

Is Beatbot worth it? Our verdict

Beatbot builds some of the most feature-rich cordless pool robots available. Surface skimming, surface parking, long runtimes and a 3-year warranty across the range are genuine advantages. Bob Vila picked two Beatbots in its 2026 list (Sora 70 and AquaSense 2).

The counterpoint comes from specialist testers. The Pool Nerd rated every Beatbot between 3.0 and 3.9 out of 5 and argued that cheaper corded robots, particularly Dolphins, delivered stronger floor, wall and filtration results. Lifehacker's 2024 review of the earlier AquaSense Pro also questioned its value. Our view: buy a Beatbot for convenience and surface cleaning, not for the finest filtration.

How we chose

We have not tested Beatbot robots. This review uses Beatbot's own specifications and prices (checked October 2026), independent reviews from Bob Vila, The Pool Nerd and Lifehacker, owner rating patterns, and comparisons with rival brands' published specs.

Beatbot ranges explained

  • AquaSense series: the premium line. AquaSense 2 is the entry model; the 2 Ultra adds an AI camera, surface skimming and clarifier; the AquaSense X adds a self-cleaning filter station.
  • Sora series: newer, more affordable robots with 6,800 gallons per hour of suction. The Sora 70 adds JetPulse surface cleaning.
  • iSkim: a dedicated surface skimmer with a 9 L basket.
  • Retail editions (A100, P300 and variants): versions sold through pool shops, often with different names from the online range.

Beatbot pros and cons

Pros

  • 3-year warranty across the range.
  • Surface parking makes retrieval easier.
  • Surface skimming on Sora 70 and AquaSense 2 Ultra.
  • Long manufacturer-rated runtimes.

Cons

  • High prices, especially at the top end.
  • 150-micron standard filters are coarser than Dolphin's ultra-fine options.
  • Heavy flagship robots (13.2 kg for the 2 Ultra).
  • Cordless only, so you always charge and retrieve.

Beatbot vs Dolphin and Aiper

Against Dolphin, Beatbot wins on convenience and features, and Dolphin wins on value and fine filtration according to The Pool Nerd. Against Aiper, Beatbot is generally pricier but offers a 3-year warranty across its range, while Aiper covers a wider price range and has had two US CPSC recalls on older models. See our full Beatbot vs Aiper comparison and the best cordless robots.

Beatbot company claims, checked

Beatbot describes itself as a global leader in smart pool robotics and claims over 500 patents (granted or pending), over 100,000 customers and a presence in 38+ markets. These are the company's own figures and we could not verify them independently. Its own site also gives two different retail store counts (1,000+ and 2,000+).

Frequently asked questions

Is Beatbot better than Dolphin?

It depends on what you value. Beatbot offers cordless convenience, surface skimming and 3-year warranties. Specialist reviewer The Pool Nerd found corded Dolphins cleaned floors and walls better and caught finer particles for less money.

Is a Beatbot pool cleaner worth it?

If you want an all-in-one cordless robot that also skims the surface, yes, particularly the Sora 70. If you mainly want the cleanest floor for the money, a corded robot is usually better value.

How long does a Beatbot battery last?

Beatbot rates the AquaSense 2 Ultra at up to 5 hours on the floor and 10 hours on the surface, and the Sora 70 at up to 5 hours floor and 7 hours surface. Independent testers report shorter real-world times for some models.

What warranty does Beatbot offer?

Beatbot advertises a 3-year warranty across its range, described as full replacement protection on the AquaSense 2 Ultra product page.

Can Beatbot robots be used in saltwater pools?

Yes. Beatbot says the AquaSense 2 Ultra and AquaSense X work in saltwater pools with salinity below 5,000 ppm.

What is the highest rated pool cleaning robot?

Ratings vary by reviewer. Bob Vila's 2026 best overall is the corded Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus, with the Beatbot Sora 70 as best all-in-one. See our main robot pool cleaner guide for our picks.
